Hiranya’s album grew from her experiences following Brexit. At turns tender, at turns fierce; she explores migration and colonialism. Part nostalgia, part history lesson; it contemplates belonging through the plants rooted in her country’s landscape. The resultant pilgrimage, crisscrossing from England to the Commonwealth, and back; integrates her ancestral story into its broader context.
